The Civil Guard of the Lanzarote Airport arrested on July 29 a person with initials J.L.G.V. of foreign nationality and 28 years of age for the alleged crime of drug trafficking.
The members of the Fiscal Detachment of the Lanzarote Airport in the exercise of their functions of prevention of security and drug trafficking carried out a random inspection of several checked luggage of a commercial flight from Madrid.
Among the selection made, the agents detected that the suitcase owned by J.L.G.V. had a double bottom, inside which there was a perfectly airtight package with a wrapping that was glued with plastic tape to the inside of the same, containing hidden a white substance that, after applying the reagents of the mandatory drug tests, turned out to be cocaine, yielding a total weight of 1,200 grams.
Therefore, its owner was immediately arrested, who after being placed at the disposal of the corresponding court on duty in the town of Arrecife, was ordered to be held in provisional detention.
