The body of Alfredo Caballero, who was butler to King Hussein of Jordan at La Casa Real de La Mareta, was found this Sunday at his home in Costa Teguise, where he had apparently been dead for several days.
The Island Directorate of the General State Administration states that the facts are still being investigated, although the Civil Guard has confirmed to La Voz that his death was due to "natural causes".
People close to the family say that the agents accessed the house at the request of the owner of the apartment, since he had not heard from him for quite some time.
Alfredo Caballero, father of three daughters, worked as butler to Hussein of Jordan in the 80s, when the king came to Lanzarote to spend his holidays at the Royal House of La Mareta, in Costa Teguise.
In addition, Caballero was head of the room of a nightclub and maitre of a restaurant on the island. "He was a very good person," says one of his friends, who received the sad news of his death this Sunday.
