The body of a 40-year-old man, native of Valterra, has been found this Friday morning in the Charco de San Ginés, in an area near the Four Corners.
Although police sources claim that he was a drug addict who "frequented the area", and that everything indicates that it was not "a violent death", the family assures that the deceased had left drugs more than a year ago, and demand that what happened be investigated. And they assure that there are witnesses who claim that the deceased received "a beating from several young people".
They even claim that at first, a person called an ambulance when they saw him lying in the street, but he was not attended to. "They left him there thinking he was a drug addict," says a relative.
Now, they are waiting for the results of the autopsy, to confirm the causes of death, although sources from the investigation insist that it was due to "natural causes" and not to an aggression. Around noon this Friday, the judge proceeded to remove the body, after agents of the Local Police and the National Police of Arrecife moved to the scene. Members of the Scientific and Judicial Police are investigating the events.
This is the second death that has been recorded in the area in the last ten days. On February 2, the lifeless body of a 44-year-old woman was found in a "smoking den" also located in the Charco de San Ginés area. On this occasion, it was a drug addict who lived in an abandoned house.
