The corpse found floating on the beach of La Madera de Tinajo, belongs to a 56-year-old man of Spanish nationality, according to the Civil Guard.
All the evidence gathered indicates that he is a fisherman, since fishing gear was found in the area near his location. The Costa Teguise Judicial Police team has taken charge of the investigation. The Benemérita points out that the causes of death are subject to the mandatory autopsy.
The discovery occurred at around four in the afternoon about 300 meters from the coast when a notice alerted the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security that there was an object floating in the water that could be a corpse. The GES helicopter carried out the recovery of the body and, following instructions from the judicial authority, transferred it to the Lanzarote airport, where it was taken over by the Civil Guard. Local Police collaborated with the intervening resources.
