The perpetrator of the gender-based murder in Gáldar, Manuel Ramón C.G, surrendered this Wednesday at the Arrecife Police Station of the National Police. The 43-year-old, originally from Seville, allegedly confessed to an acquaintance that he had killed and buried Mariam Ibarlucea next to a shack where they lived. This acquaintance then notified 112 Canarias, who alerted the Local Police and the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard.

The Civil Guard found bone remains on Tuesday afternoon on a farm in the aforementioned municipality of Gran Canaria, where they were searching for María de los Ángeles, 60 years old and originally from the Basque Country.

In this sense, the investigators have resumed work first thing in the morning to clarify the facts, while the remains have been transferred for analysis.
