Agents of the National Police of the Provincial Brigade of Immigration and Borders of Las Palmas have arrested a total of seven people, five of them men and two women between 30 and 50 years old, of different nationalities, for crimes of document forgery and against social security.
The investigation began in August of last year, when police officers became aware of the existence of a person who, taking advantage of his situation of functional diversity, offered foreign citizens in an irregular situation in Spain false employment contracts as domestic employees, to later present them together with the applications for Residence and Work at the Government Sub-delegation, and take advantage of that "labor simulation" with the aim of obtaining the work permit and residence in Spain, and then be able to access the collection of benefits.
During the investigation carried out by the agents, in collaboration with the Provincial Labor and Social Security Inspectorate of Las Palmas, 21 labor inspections were carried out on both the employer and the alleged workers.
The ITSS decreed that the employment contracts presented at the Government Sub-delegation were "labor simulations" and therefore proceeded with the initiation of nine infraction reports for labor simulation with the aim of obtaining benefits in immigration matters, and two reports for improper collection of Social Security benefits, being unable to raise twelve more reports as they were already prescribed.
Therefore, the Provincial Brigade of Immigration and Borders of Las Palmas proceeded to arrest seven people, including the employer who offered false employment contracts and will request the Government Sub-delegation to terminate the corresponding residence and work permits, since they were obtained in fraud of law, by using false employment contracts for this purpose.
Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
