A 70-year-old woman has been transferred in moderate condition to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital after suffering a drowning incident on Los Pocillos beach, in the municipality of Tías, on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 5:12 PM, when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert reporting that a woman had been rescued from the water with signs of drowning.
Upon receiving the alert, 112 immediately activated emergency resources. An advanced life support ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), along with officers from the Guardia Civil and Local Police, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, medical personnel confirmed that the affected woman presented moderate signs of drowning. After stabilizing her on the beach, she was evacuated in an advanced life support ambulance to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital for further medical attention.
For their part, the Guardia Civil and Local Police collaborated with the emergency services and were responsible for initiating the corresponding proceedings.
