The secretary of the Lánzate Association, Edgar Núñez, has reported that last Saturday, March 6, he suffered an attack due to LGTBIfobia, "simply for wearing a mask of Proud Canary Islands."
According to what he has related, he was in a bar in Titerroy, when "a male native of Arrecife" said to him "fucking faggot, you disgust me". Later, Edgar states that the man "grabbed him by the neck" and "gave him blows all over the body."
"Not only content with this, after struggles he also took my cell phone. All this in front of a cafeteria in Arrecife and at 8:00 p.m., in a very busy place," adds the secretary of the Lánzate Association.
From the Lanzate Association they demand "more security in the streets" and that "this, like many other acts of harassment" against this group "do not go unpunished." "We will work as in all cases to get to the bottom of the matter and that this type of acts are condemned with the severity they deserve," they add.
The events have already been reported to the National Police Station in the capital of Lanzarote.
