The Security and Emergency Consortium has reported that Bastián beach continues with the prohibition of bathing this Thursday due to the strong waves, a restriction to which the beach of La Garita is added. As is more usual, the red flag remains in Famara.

During the afternoon of last Wednesday, it was decided to prohibit bathing on the beaches of Bastián and Jablillo. The decision was made after a woman who was bathing in the sea almost drowned due to the strong waves. Now it is maintained only in Playa Bastián.

For its part, the beaches of Costa Teguise of Las Cucharas and Jablillo rise this Thursday with a yellow flag as well. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts strong winds for this afternoon and for tomorrow Friday. However, its prediction estimates that the waves will be weak.

The recommendations indicated by the Ministry of Health are recalled: in the presence of a red flag on the beach, do not enter the water. Also, avoid bathing if you are under the effects of alcohol or drugs, as well as beach mats that can be dragged by the tide.

In addition, the Ministry of Health reports that the yellow flag means dangerous bathing. Therefore, it is better to only bathe up to the waist and do so with caution.
