Las Palmeras Avenue, one of the main roads of Costa Teguise, opens to traffic in the early afternoon of this Monday after being flooded by the passage of the rains last Saturday.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) had warned of the arrival of rains to the eastern islands and in northern Tenerife and the Government of the Canary Islands established the pre-alert situation on the island, but finally the precipitations were more intense than expected.

On Saturday, up to 120 liters per square meter were recorded in Tahíche, 100 in Costa Teguise and more than 60 in Arrecife. Thus, 200 incidents were counted 200 incidents in the capital of the island and 75 in Teguise, of which 215 were for water reductions, 16 for obstacles in the circulation and four for interruption of basic supplies such as electricity and water.

Costa Teguise was one of the towns most affected by the passage of the rains and the lack of foresight. Thus, two of the main roads of the tourist town had to close to traffic due to the floods.
