The two alleged skippers of the boat and two other men have been arrested, in a joint operation by the National Police and the Civil Guard, and have already been sent to provisional prison.
After being detected about three miles from Lanzarote, the boat was intercepted by Maritime Rescue. 32 people were traveling in the boat, four of whom were women and six were minors.
The boat was transferred to the commercial dock of Arrecife, where the immigrants were attended by the Red Cross. There, it was also found that inside the boat there were 10 bundles of hashish, which weighed 263 kilos.
Police investigations allowed to identify two of the travelers as the perpetrators of skippering the boat and charging about 2,000 euros to each of the immigrants, to bring them to Spain from Morocco. Therefore, they were arrested for a crime against the rights of foreign citizens.
