Last weekend, two thefts were carried out in two food stores in Arrecife. The first of these took place last Saturday afternoon in the capital of Lanzarote, when a man wearing a sanitary mask, two jackets and a knife tried to take the money from the store's cash register.
The assailant, who was the same one who robbed another store on Sunday, entered the store with a knife of "great dimensions", ready to take the money from the cash register. This has been revealed by sources from the store to La Voz. The robber pointed the white weapon at the clerk, at which point she managed to remove the surgical mask and see his face. The worker has managed to identify the thief of the establishment.
The individual used that clothing for a second robbery, the victim told La Voz. With the intention of defending the employee, the owner of the premises struggled with the assailant and ended up with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the robber could not get the money from the cash register and fled the scene.
Afterwards, the owner of the premises went to the hospital where he was given the relevant injury report. Now, the employee has confirmed to this editorial staff that "they are investigating and trying to find the culprit", while both she and her boss hope that it will not happen again in other establishments in the capital of Conejera.
"He is a violent person, we don't want it to happen again, he knows that by managing to take money once, he can perfectly do it again", he pointed out. The National Police is working to find his whereabouts, taking into account that he has already been identified by the three victims, the two from the first store and the owner of the second.
