Maritime Rescue rescued a cruise passenger in waters near Arrecife this Monday who required medical assistance, according to the Emergency Consortium.
The events occurred at about 9 pm when the ship had already left port and the affected 88-year-old suffered a stroke. "In order not to make the cruise ship return, Salvamar picked up the tourist and took him ashore," according to the manager of the Consortium.
Once on land, the basic life support ambulance of the Canarian Health Service (SUC) was in charge of transferring the patient to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
