A man was found dead on Sunday night in a bungalow in Puerto del Carmen, where a fire broke out that burned this house and also affected the adjoining house, both abandoned for years.
The firefighters received the alert call around 11:45 p.m., although they did not know that there was a person inside the bungalow. However, when about 15 minutes after arriving they managed to extinguish the flames and were ventilating the house, they located a totally burned corpse.
From the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium they notified the Civil Guard, who has taken charge of the investigation to clarify what happened.
The event occurred in the Rinconada area, at the entrance of Puerto del Carmen from Arrecife, and in addition to completely burning the house where the flames started, it also affected the adjoining bungalow, although there were no more people who were affected by the flames or smoke.
The deceased, according to sources close to the case, could be an Italian who resided in Lanzarote and was occupying that house.
