Agents of the National Police have arrested in Arrecife a 35-year-old man, with no police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a simulated crime.

The National Police received at the beginning of the year the complaint of a man, in which he stated in great detail how two men assaulted him at dawn while walking along a street in the capital of Lanzarote, to steal the mobile phone he was carrying in his right hand and a bag with the invoice of the same that he was carrying in his left hand.

The two individuals allegedly hid in a house on León y Castillo street, where the victim followed them before filing the corresponding complaint. Police investigation revealed that the robbery never took place, as the alleged victim had actually gone to a brothel where he enjoyed the services of a woman and voluntarily handed over the mobile phone as a means of payment, also providing the invoice and writing the unlock PIN on the back.

Therefore, the 35-year-old man was finally arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a simulated crime.
