Man arrested for allegedly killing another in a bar fight in Costa Teguise

A fight between two European citizens residing in Lanzarote ended with the death of one of them. The events took place in the early hours of Sunday, May 28 in a bar in Costa Teguise. Both were on the terrace of the aforementioned premises, located on a second floor, when in the middle of the brawl one of them pushed the other, who fell down the stairs.

According to sources close to the investigation, two Local Police patrols were the first to arrive at the scene, provide assistance together with the health services to the victim, gather testimonies and videos of what happened and arrest the accused. After that, agents of the Guardia Civil moved to the premises and continued with the appropriate investigations, at the same time. Likewise, the injured person was referred to the hospital.

The victim, of British nationality, did not die on the spot but the day after the incident. The deceased was 50 years old and the detainee 46. The relevant police investigations attribute to the accused, who was brought to justice, the alleged authorship of a crime of homicide.
