The Civil Guard is looking for a resident of Playa Honda who allegedly killed his neighbors' dog after accessing the house's sunroom. It is believed that the perpetrator is a man who had complained on several occasions about the animal's barking and had even addressed the City Council about this issue. When the perpetrator is arrested, he will be charged with a crime of domestic animal abuse.
According to the Civil Guard, a witness saw someone enter the sunroom of this house on San Borondón street in Playa Honda last Monday afternoon. The animal's corpse, a Yorkshire terrier, was later found on the road "with a lot of blood."
The Civil Guard confirms that the animal was indeed thrown onto the street by the perpetrator, although it remains to be determined whether the dog was beaten before being thrown from the sunroom.
Domestic animal abuse is a crime, classified in the Penal Code. Article 337.3 states that "if the animal's death has been caused, a penalty of six to eighteen months of imprisonment and special disqualification of two to four years for the exercise of a profession, trade, or business related to animals and for the possession of animals will be imposed."
