The hiker whose search was activated early Tuesday morning in the municipality of Haría has now been located and rescued by Emergency services, according to sources from the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 confirmed to La Voz. The man presented mild symptoms of hypothermia and dehydration.

The alert was received at 8:45 a.m., although the person had been missing since the previous night in a difficult-to-access mountainous area located between the towns of Haría and Órzola. The man, 41 years old and of foreign nationality, had become trapped in a ravine with no possibility of continuing on his own.

A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was mobilized to the site, along with firefighters from the Consortium for Safety and Emergencies, the Haría Local Police, and the Civil Guard. However, due to adverse weather conditions, the helicopter could not perform the hoist rescue, so the rescue had to be completed on foot.

The intervention teams transferred the hiker on a stretcher to a safe area for helicopter pickup, which finally evacuated him to Lanzarote Airport. From there, a basic life support ambulance took him to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
