Sewer overflow in Arrecife

The Hermine storm is already in full swing in Lanzarote and its effects are beginning to be noticed on the island.

Arrecife is, as usual, the most affected area with overflowing sewers and practically impassable streets. According to Aemet Canarias, about 36 liters per square meter have fallen in Arrecife this Sunday.

In Costa Teguise the lifeguard service has put the red flag on Las Cucharas beach "due to the high contamination brought by the mud."

In Playa Honda the water has also run through the ravine reaching the beach of Guacimeta.

In the municipality of Tías, the Emergency services have also had to act. Avenida de Las Playas has had to be closed at the height of the information and tourism office due to flooding.
