An 80-year-old man injured with moderate severity in a fire in a Máguez home

The fire originated from a gas cylinder located in the garage of the terraced house

An 80-year-old man has been moderately injured in a house fire in Máguez, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES).

The incident took place around 6:00 PM this Monday, September 7, when CECOES received an alert call.

Local Police officers, the Civil Guard, Civil Protection, the Northern Emergency Consortium, and a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service have been dispatched to the scene.

Healthcare personnel assisted the affected person, who had a burn on one leg, and after stabilizing him, he was evacuated by ambulance to Molina Orosa.

For their part, the firefighters extinguished the fire and ventilated the home. The deputy mayor, Evelia García, and the local police councilor, Pepe Torres, traveled to the area to collaborate in the intervention.

Finally, the police officers carried out the corresponding report.
