The Civil Guard has arrested in Lanzarote a manager of a winery in La Geria who allegedly appropriated more than 6,200 euros by keeping the money from the sales of wine bottles and guided tours, the armed institute reported this Saturday in a statement.
The arrest of the worker, 32 years old, as alleged perpetrator of a crime of misappropriation was carried out on February 11, after the complaint filed by one of the representatives of the winery.
The winery managers realized the worker's actions when they received calls from twelve customers asking about the boxes of wines they had bought and had not been sent and that companies dedicated to making excursions to the Winery, supposedly had not paid for the services.
The customers pointed out that the person they spoke to on the phone was always the same. The detainee, according to the note, provided his own account for them to make the deposits, and on other occasions he received the money in cash or through a payment platform.
After learning of the facts, the winery took over the supply of the bottles that never reached the customers, assuming the economic losses, 6,226.65 euros, the statement indicates. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Court in functions of Guard of Arrecife.
