Emergency helicopter rescues elderly woman in a hard-to-reach area of Papagayo

The 70-year-old woman was injured near Mujeres beach

A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Government of the Canary Islands rescued at noon this Tuesday a 70-year-old woman who was injured in an area of difficult access in the Papagayo beaches, in the municipality of Yaiza

The events took place around 2:00 PM, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) was alerted that there was **an injured woman** near Mujeres beach, one of the beaches that make up the Playas de Papagayo, in the Los Ajaches Natural Monument. This was confirmed by CECOES to *La Voz*.

On this occasion, firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, agents from the Yaiza Local Police, and the Civil Guard have been mobilized. In addition to a basic life support ambulance and a medicalized one, a helicopter from the Canary Islands Executive has also joined.

Everything indicates that the woman suffered a fall in the Playa Mujeres area, but the extent of her injuries is not yet known
