The Arrecife Traffic Detachment investigated on February 24 a 25-year-old male as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety, by driving at an excessive speed of 164 kilometers per hour over the maximum speed limit of the road, in the municipality of San Bartolomé.

The Civil Guard, while carrying out a speed verification device using a mobile speed camera, detected a vehicle traveling above the permitted speed, on the LZ34 road that connects Tahíche and San Bartolomé on a section of road where the maximum speed limit was 60 km/h.

As soon as the vehicle was detected at the control point at the indicated speed, a device was established to stop the vehicle and identify the driver, whose detention and identification was quickly achieved, being informed that he would be investigated for an alleged crime against Road Safety for driving at 164 kilometers per hour in a section limited to 60 kilometers per hour.

Once the instruction of the proceedings was completed, these were delivered to the Arrecife Duty Court, as well as to the Permanent Attachment of the Prosecutor's Office, with contribution of the images captured by the speed camera, as well as the rest of the evidence and reports made by personnel of the Arrecife Detachment.
