A driver was injured this Sunday, February 22, after colliding her vehicle with a lamppost on Mástil street, in Playa Honda, in the municipality of San Bartolomé.
The accident occurred at 11:21 AM at which time the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) was alerted. Firefighters and Local Police were dispatched to the scene.
Upon their arrival, the responders confirmed that the vehicle had impacted a lamppost and that the driver remained inside, being attended to by paramedics from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), who had already placed a cervical collar on her.
The Local Police proceeded to cut off the road to traffic, diverting circulation to the opposite lane to facilitate the intervention of emergency services.
The firefighters stabilized the vehicle and, after placing a short board to immobilize the injured person, removed the rear seat and folded down the backrest to proceed with her extrication using a rescue board. Once outside, the injured woman was transferred to the paramedics' vacuum mattress for transport.
After verifying that the lamppost showed no structural damage, the officers collected the material and concluded the service.
