National Police agents arrested a man and a woman on December 19 in Lanzarote for drug trafficking offenses. The investigation began when investigators became aware that one of those now arrested could be involved in the sale of narcotic substances on the island.

From that moment on, various surveillance and monitoring operations were carried out, which allowed the illicit activity and modus operandi of the couple to be confirmed.

At first light on December 19, officers established a police presence in the vicinity of the suspects' home. During surveillance, they observed a person leaving the residence, taking extreme security measures and constantly checking their surroundings, before subsequently heading to the vehicle they regularly used.

Minutes later, both exited the residence and were intercepted by officers before accessing the car. After identifying them, the police searched the vehicle, locating in its undercarriage several containers crudely hidden with magnets, inside which various narcotic substances were concealed.

Given these events, the officers proceeded to arrest both individuals and transfer them to police facilities. In total, 530g of cocaine, 100g of methamphetamine, and 295 ecstasy pills were seized

Subsequently, and with the corresponding judicial authorization, a search was carried out at the detainees' residence, where new quantities of narcotic substances and cash were seized.

Once the police procedures were completed, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, with one of them being remanded in custody.
