Agents of the Citizen Attention Operational Group of the Local Police of Arrecife intercepted a stolen vehicle in Arrecife and arrested its driver. The events took place last Saturday, November 9, on Juan Negrín Street, near the Disa gas station.
The agents of the Local Police of Arrecife, in a joint operation with the Civil Guard, acted after receiving an alert the previous day. The collaboration between both bodies facilitated the vehicle being located mid-morning on Saturday.
As reported by the Local Police, the intervention, carried out with the support of a Civil Guard team that was monitoring the vehicle, allowed the arrest of the driver, who is also allegedly linked to a robbery in a house in the municipality of Teguise.
The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the court to answer for the crimes under investigation.
The Local Police argues that "the combination of the use of different means facilitates the location of stolen vehicles and optimizes the effectiveness in the resolution of this type of crime, by allowing the identification of those involved before they abandon the vehicle. This increases the chances of arrest, especially of repeat offenders in this type of crime."
