Agents of the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife arrested three men this Sunday for their alleged participation in the rape of a 48-year-old woman in a home in the La Salud neighborhood.
Local police officers went to the scene after being alerted by a citizen who found the victim in the street after fleeing the home where she was being held and where, apparently, the reported events occurred, as reported this Monday by the Santa Cruz City Council in a statement.
According to the victim's account, the previous night she had met one of the arrested men, identified as L.B.G., 30 years old, and once in his home, she was approached by two other men who were there (A.F.G.F., 31 years old, and C.M.L.M., 47), who according to her testimony grabbed her by force, removed her clothes, and prevented her from calling for help.
The victim stated that two of them actively collaborated in reducing her ability to move and, despite refusing to have sexual relations, she was sexually assaulted by L.B.G.
Finally, when these men were distracted, the victim fled to the street with the clothes she could salvage, and was found by several passers-by.
The agents took the victim to both the nearest health center and the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria.
Another team of agents went to the home to identify the detainees.
Once there, they collected the victim's remaining clothing and transferred all this information to a specialized group of the National Police for subsequent investigation and collection of possible evidence, for which reason this apartment has remained under police custody all this time to facilitate this work.
