Body of a man found floating in the sea in Lanzarote

Emerlan forwarded the notice to CECOES at 1:50 p.m. and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service was mobilized to the scene.

The Emergency services have located the body of a man floating in the sea on a beach in Puerto del Carmen at noon this Tuesday. This was reported by the Emergency Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2- of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The deceased is an 81-year-old man who was located floating lifeless in Playa Grande, in the tourist town of Tías. Emerlan forwarded the notice to CECOES at 1:50 p.m. and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Tías were mobilized to the scene.

Upon arrival at the area, the members of the Association of Volunteers in Emergencies and Rescue of Lanzarote (Emerlan) had recovered the affected person from the water and evacuated him to the Varadero dock. The SUC ambulance then confirmed his death.

The Civil Guard guarded the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and the Local Police collaborated with the rest of the resources.
