Arrested for slashing the tires of 15 vehicles and damaging street furniture in San Bartolomé

The 48-year-old woman had a police record, according to the Civil Guard.

The Civil Guard of Lanzarote arrested a 48-year-old woman with a police record on May 25, for committing a continuous crime of damage to 15 vehicles consisting of the breakage of more than 40 tires as well as urban furniture in planters and public trash cans, amounting to a total of about 4,000 euros in the town of San Bartolomé.

The Benemérita became aware of the events on May 21 as a result of the complaints filed by the injured parties, among whom was the San Bartolomé City Council, whose mobile park suffered damage to 10 vehicles, events that occurred during the early morning of May 21 and 24.

The circumstance is that the vehicles were parked on public roads, where the alleged perpetrator caused the breakage of more than 40 tires and also urban furniture such as numerous planters and public trash cans, amounting to damages of 4,057.39 euros. Given all this, the Civil Guard initiated an investigation and carried out the relevant inquiries and investigations, based on the testimonies collected from injured people and eyewitnesses, in addition to carrying out a study of the recordings of the security cameras in the area where the criminal acts occurred, whose meticulous viewing resulted in a full identification of the alleged perpetrator of the continuous crime of damage, evidence also collected together with the Local Police of San Bartolomé.

Finally, the Civil Guard carried out the proceedings instructed for this purpose, which were placed together with the detainee at the disposal of the Arrecife Duty Court.
