The Civil Guard arrested this Sunday at the Guacimeta airport a person of foreign nationality and initials P.C., as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, when he was trying to introduce 726 grams of heroin into the island.
As explained in a statement, the agents of the Fiscal Unit "proceeded to identify a passenger, raising their suspicions, due to the nervous attitude shown before the agents acting in their fiscal inspection of passengers and luggage".
Given the "contradictions" and "incoherencies" of P.C. when questioned by the agents, "he finally stated that he was carrying several capsules of drugs inside his body, so he was quickly transferred, given the obvious risk to his physical integrity", to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife. There, he underwent a radiological examination, which confirmed the presence of numerous capsules in his body.
Finally, P.C. expelled 62 capsules of heroin, which weighed 726 grams, being arrested for a crime against public health. The detainee, as well as the seized drug, have been placed at the judicial disposal of the corresponding duty court of Arrecife.
