The Civil Guard has arrested a man for an alleged crime of mistreatment in the family environment (gender violence), for threatening his partner with death and then barricading himself with a machete in a family home.

The intervention of the agents began when the victim went to the Main Post of Agüimes to report that her partner had threatened her with a katana in the street, while she was accompanied by several people. The detainee threatened her with death in a loud voice and even published a photo of her on social networks offering 4,000 euros to whoever told him where she was.

Likewise, after the complaint, the police action protocol for victims of gender violence in cases of extreme risk was activated and the complainant was placed under police custody.

The civil guards began the search for the alleged perpetrator and located him hours later inside a family home, barricaded with a large machete.

The detainee, who threatened the agents, was in a state of aggressiveness and hostility. Therefore, the Negotiating Team of the Las Palmas Command was activated, as well as the Citizen Security patrols and the USECIC.

Finally, after two hours of negotiation with the aggressor, the barricaded man surrendered and was arrested.

The detainee, together with the police proceedings, were handed over to the Court of Violence Against Women No. 2 of Telde, ordering his imprisonment.

The Organic Unit of the Judicial Police, USECIC, Citizen Security Patrol and the Gender Violence Team of Guía have participated in the operation.
