National Police agents arrested a 48-year-old man on the night of August 24 in Arrecife as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, after seizing more than 74 grams of a substance, apparently cocaine, as well as 1,243 sildenafil tablets and more than 2,000 euros in cash in an establishment.
The events occurred around 10:30 p.m., when agents of the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR), within the framework of preventive work against drug trafficking, carried out a police operation in an establishment in the capital of Lanzarote.
During the intervention, the police initially located a fanny pack containing 268 sildenafil tablets of 100 milligrams, as well as cash.
The operation subsequently led to the discovery inside the establishment of several packages containing a white solid substance which, pending definitive analysis, appeared to be cocaine. A total of 101 packages weighing approximately 74.30 grams were seized.
Likewise, the agents located another 975 sildenafil tablets, bringing the total seized to 1,243 units, in addition to a digital precision scale.
The total amount of money seized amounted to 2,020.05 euros.
Given the findings and the evidence gathered, the agents proceeded to arrest the person responsible for the establishment as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.
The detainee was transferred to the National Police facilities in Arrecife, where he remained in police custody for the continuation of the proceedings.
