A double bolide was recorded at the Playa Blanca video-detection Station in the early hours of this Thursday, flying over the north coast of Gran Canaria, according to the Bolides and Meteorites Research Network.

Ramón López (@StargazaerLzt), an astronomer collaborating with the Spanish Meteor Network (SPMN), was the one who gave notice of the visualization of the meteors. The passage of the double bolide took place at 01.53 hours.

Another bolide causes "a huge bang"

Hours before the double bolide was observed from Lanzarote, a bolide caused a huge bang over Gran Canaria on Wednesday afternoon.

"The SPMN, which is coordinated by the Space Sciences Institute of the CSIC, already announced this Wednesday that it coincided with the impression of the Astrophysics Institute of the Canary Islands (IAC) and the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (Involcán): the enormous noise that was heard in Gran Canaria on Wednesday at around 15.35 hours was the acoustic wave caused by a bolide entering the Earth's atmosphere at supersonic speed", according to the EFE agency.

Therefore, the SPMN Network has made a call to citizens to send them any video, sound or photo they recorded of what happened. For the moment, it has not published any, but the 112 has collected testimonies from people who saw a bolide crossing the sky in the direction of Gran Canaria from La Palma and Tenerife at that time, leaving a green trail.
