Another dog and another cat have died this Tuesday in La Graciosa presumably from being "poisoned". This is the second time that the "provoked" death of animals on the eighth island has been reported after a woman claimed that her mother's dog and four cats had died from "poisoning".
Apparently, the owner of the deceased dog was spending a few days in La Graciosa with the animal, but it died this Tuesday. When taking it to the vet, the professional told her that "it died from a phytosanitary poison".
In addition, a cat also appeared lifeless in the area of the Los Conejos ravine. For her part, a woman has assured La Voz that "dogs and cats continue to die poisoned, it is very sad".
Some people are warning on social networks that citizens should be careful in the area known as "El Sordo", where they point out that it could be the area of origin of these alleged poisonings.
On the other hand, Ginés González, Councilor for Animal Welfare of the Teguise City Council, explained to this editorial team that "from the first case that occurred, the Canine Anti-Poison Unit was activated and what happened is being investigated". From the City Council they continue to investigate these deaths to discover who or what is behind them.
