An inmate at the Tahíche prison opened another inmate's cell and broke his jaw in the isolation module of the Tahíche prison.
The events took place at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday, when inmate JFLS was talking on the phone in the isolation booth. At that moment, according to the Association of Bodies of the Penitentiary Institutions Administration in the Tahíche prison, the prisoner forced a security rake and opened the cell door.
At that moment, he gave him "a brutal beating" and as a consequence he will have to undergo surgery for the jaw fracture in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
"The actions of the prison officers prevented the injuries from being more serious," defends the union section of the center.
Likewise, the ACAIP union denounces "the deficiencies, both human and material, suffered by prison officers in their daily work, as well as the recognition of authority agents."
