Members of the Tías Local Police arrested J.C.C., 22, and Y.A.N., 20, on December 28, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of home invasion on Los Lirios road, where they had settled in, taking advantage of the recent absence of the homeowner, a 92-year-old woman.
According to police sources, the woman had been absent the previous afternoon to spend the night with her daughter. Upon returning to her mother's house, she **surprised an unknown man inside**, sitting in the living room and watching television.
The officers went to the house and confirmed that the man was accompanied by a pregnant woman, "stating that they had entered the home because they had nowhere to go and couldn't stay on the street".
The police officers explained to the couple that they had entered an occupied dwelling, "easily verifiable, as the resident's clothes, food, and toiletries were inside, it being her primary residence, emphasizing that they were harming a nonagenarian woman."The officers invited the couple to cease their behavior and voluntarily leave the house, a request to which Y.A.N. agreed, even asking J.C.C. to also leave the dwelling, but this person flatly refused
Faced with this, the officers proceeded to arrest him and searched the backpack he was carrying, which contained a drill, three lock cylinders, a crowbar, and various tools, likely used to force the window through which they entered the home.
