A woman had to be rescued after falling from a height of about five meters on the Arrecife Commercial pier near Punta Lagarta, according to the Emergency Consortium,
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. this Thursday, at which time CECOES was alerted. Local Police officers, an SUC ambulance and firefighters went to the scene.
The young woman, who was in the lower part of the dock sitting on the rocks, complained of severe pain in her legs. The rescuers descended to her using an extension ladder. After assessing her condition and placing a neck brace on her, they transferred her to a rescue stretcher. With a rope traction system, they hoisted her to the top of the dock, where the ambulance was waiting to take her to the Molina Orosa hospital.
During the service, the victim's telephone and bag were collected and later delivered to the hospital.
