A 26-year-old man ended up hospitalized at Molina Orosa after being attacked on Sunday morning in Arrecife. The events took place around 6:15 a.m. at the exit of the nightclub areas of the capital of Lanzarote.
According to La Voz, the boy suffered two wounds to his shoulder due to cuts, several bruises and another wound to his lower right eyelid. After the attack, he was transferred in a basic life support ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital. In addition, after being treated at the hospital, the young man has had to "be operated on" on one of his eyes, he revealed.
The reason for the aggression apparently was for going out to defend another young man, who was being accosted by another for flirting with his partner and received a punch, according to his account. At that moment, the victim tried to contain the aggressor so that the companion could escape, at which point he was surprised by the group of aggressors.
As he told La Voz, there were about "ten people" who attacked him that night. "They hit him at the exit of the premises with a glass bottle and then he was finished off" in the vicinity of Manolo Millares street. He lay on the ground, unconscious and bleeding while the aggressors fled the scene. "They riddled me," he told the newspaper.
This Monday, the victim went to the National Police station in Arrecife to report the events. According to La Voz, the National Police is investigating the events.
