A woman drowned this Thursday at Las Cucharas Beach in Costa Teguise, as reported by CECOES. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when they pulled the bather, a 45-year-old woman, from the sea with cardiorespiratory arrest.
Once CECOES was alerted, two SUC ambulances were dispatched, one medicalized and one with basic life support, a doctor and a nurse from the Local Clinic of Costa Teguise, Local Police and Civil Guard.
The beach lifeguards performed basic resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of the paramedics who continued with advanced maneuvers, but they could not reverse the situation.
Police officers have initiated the proceedings.
