A waiter from the Volcán de la Corona restaurant, in Ye, saved the life of a customer who choked while eating at the premises. As a result, the woman ran out of breath and at that moment, the waiter acted immediately by performing the Heimlich maneuver.
Thanks to this heroic act by the waiter, the woman was able to expel the food that was obstructing her airways. An ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service was dispatched to the scene to attend to the affected woman, although she ultimately did not require medical assistance.
