A swimmer suffered a drowning this Saturday on one of the beaches of Playa Blanca. The events took place at 18.34 hours, when the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) was alerted by the lifeguards on the beach.
Before giving the notice, the guards had rescued the woman from the sea with signs of severe drowning and were giving her first aid. At that moment, the 1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
The staff of the Canary Emergency Service upon arrival continued with the assistance and proceeded to transfer the injured woman in a medicalized ambulance to the José Molina Orosa hospital where she was admitted in serious condition.
A basic life support ambulance also went to the scene, CECOES reports.
