The foreign sailboat Gran Marcel found on Monday afternoon a body floating on its arrival in Puerto Naos in Arrecife. It is a man of Asian origin, specifically, of Chinese nationality and 31 years old.
The events took place at around 5:45 p.m., when the crew of the sailboat spotted the corpse and called Emergencies.
The State security forces and bodies, both agents of the Civil Guard and the National Police, and workers of Maritime Rescue moved to the place.
As confirmed by Salvamento sources to La Voz, the Guardamar Caliope was in charge of collecting the corpse from the sea, at the request of the Benemérita. Specifically, they rescued the body at 5:57 p.m., using a small auxiliary boat.
Around 7:55 p.m., the body was transferred by Salvamento to the platform. Likewise, the Civil Guard has taken charge of the instruction of the case, whose investigation remains open. The body showed no signs of violent death.
