Los Mármoles road was the scene on Monday night of a spectacular police chase, which resulted in the arrest of a man and three injured officers.
According to eyewitnesses to La Voz, a vehicle was chased by police cars along that avenue of access to Arrecife, until it ended up colliding next to the Chacón premises. There, the driver was arrested by agents of the National Police.
Although this body has not confirmed the reasons that led to the persecution, sources close to the case have indicated to La Voz that it was a stolen vehicle and that the driver could also be the perpetrator of several robberies committed in Costa Teguise. Now, the detainee would also face charges for reckless driving and resistance to authority.
According to the same sources, at the time of the arrest the man attacked several police officers, even trying to stab one of them in the chest. Fortunately, the vest prevented him from suffering serious injuries. In addition, another agent suffered injuries to his hand and a third a slight blow to the head.
For his part, the detainee also had to be transferred to the Hospital after being arrested, after colliding with the car during the chase and causing damage to two other vehicles.
