An Iberia Express plane that took off from Lanzarote at 07:00 hours bound for Madrid had to return to César Manrique Airport after a passenger suffered a health problem in mid-flight.

According to CECOES, they received a call from the airport at around 08:09 this Saturday due to the medical emergency. A medicalized ambulance was transferred and evacuated the affected man, 69 years old, to Molina Orosa.

From Air Traffic Controllers they explain "that the route has been shortened as much as possible, with some deviation due to stormy nuclei and medical attention is coordinated on the ground"
