The Dj's Summer Festival, held in the park of Valterra, was suspended last Saturday after identifying a minor with a knife inside the venue of the party.
The Local Police of Arrecife was alerted by a neighbor who heard a conversation of the young man that incriminated him, so the agents proceeded to locate him and take away the knife. However, these could not arrest him because he was under 14 years of age, the limit of criminal responsibility established by law, so they had to release him.
The party was scheduled to end at 3 in the morning, but was finally suspended around 1:30, two and a half hours after starting. Moreover, the last DJ confirmed to perform, DJ Adrián Betancort, could not play, due to the early termination of the event.
"We stopped the incident to avoid accidents", insisted the councilor Encarna Páez, who wanted to emphasize that there were no injuries thanks to the rapid police action. In addition, she also explained that there were some fights, but outside the area marked for the party.
