Illegal Marijuana Plantation in Arrecife

The National Police in Arrecife has arrested a man, with no police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.

Police agents initiated an operation against the illicit trafficking of marijuana in the capital of Lanzarote at the end of September, following a report prepared by the Local Police of Arrecife, where they found evidence of an illegal marijuana plantation.

The investigations carried out by the agents corroborated this information, and it was proven that the detainee distributed the narcotic substance, through a Cannabis Club that he himself ran located in the municipality of Costa Teguise.

Once the corresponding search warrants were obtained, issued by the judicial authority that investigated the case, 13 kilos of marijuana buds, 62 marijuana plants, 330 grams of hashish, and 23,650 euros were seized.

Once the police proceedings were completed, the arrested man was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
