Flight FR2001, which departed from Lanzarote on Wednesday afternoon bound for Santiago, was forced to land in Seville due to Storm Ciarán.

The journey began at 3:30 p.m. this Wednesday and after three hours and 39 minutes of flight, it ended up arriving at Seville Airport at 8:06 p.m. As La Voz has been able to verify, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft flew in the direction of Galicia. After reaching the autonomous community and circling three times at the Santiago aerodrome, the passengers were diverted, flying over the sky of Portugal, to the Andalusian capital.

Finally, the travelers touched down one hour and 46 minutes later than expected on the other side of the country. This has not been the only journey that has been cut short by the storm in the Archipelago, and several flights have suffered alterations throughout this Thursday. So much so that international and national flights have seen their departures and landings delayed as a result of the storm.

In addition, the César Manrique Airport has accumulated months of delays due to the strike by air traffic controllers who are in dispute with the company that manages the airport's control tower over the signing of a new labor agreement.
