A cruise ship that was going to stop in Arrecife was adrift in Canary waters last Sunday. According to La Provincia, the ship needed assistance after suffering an engine failure after leaving the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife towards Arrecife.
The ship, operated by P&O Ventura, had set sail from the British port of Southampton and suffered the mishap after twelve days of crossing, when it was heading to Lanzarote.
According to La Provincia, which echoes information published by the British newspaper Cruise Hive, two tugboats transferred the ship back to the port of the capital of Tenerife. The ship, with a capacity for 3,100 passengers, was there until its return to Lisbon, and then returned to British territory, after ruling out sailing to Lanzarote.
