The constant trickle of immigrants does not stop, since, in the early hours of this Thursday, twelve people have been intercepted trying to reach the coasts of Lanzarote. The individuals, among whom was a minor, are of Maghreb origin. The boat, which was detected by the Civil Guard's radar service off La Mareta, was towed to Puerto Naos.
The immigrants were in good health, except for minor ailments typical of the hard journey they make, according to sources from the emergency units that came to the scene.
Upon arrival on land, they were arrested and transferred to the Civil Guard facilities in Costa Teguise. Marcial Martín, the island delegate of the Government, commented that they will spend one or two days in Lanzarote until "they are transferred to the Fuerteventura Internment Center, where they will wait to be repatriated", with the exception of the minor who also traveled on this boat.
