The Provincial Maritime Service of the Civil Guard intercepted during the afternoon of January 6, in waters near the island of Lanzarote, a pneumatic boat manned by two undocumented people transporting 120 kilos of hashish
The semi-rigid boat S-36 of the Maritime Detachment of Fuerteventura was alerted around 5:40 p.m. on the aforementioned day by Maritime Rescue, informing them that their helicopter had located a suspicious pneumatic boat heading south of Lanzarote with two people and numerous packages on board.
The S-36 headed towards the indicated place, which located the boat shortly after. Immediately, the two occupants of the aforementioned pneumatic boat began to throw the packages they were carrying and changed their direction to flee the area, heading towards the coast.
One of the agents jumped while moving and boarded the boat
After collecting four of the packages - of the same characteristics as the drug bales used on other occasions - that were still afloat, the Civil Guard agents initiated the pursuit of the boat.
Moments later, the S-36 managed to reach the boat, whose crew members "ignored" the warnings by megaphone from the agents, only slowing down when one of the civil guards managed to jump while moving and board it, and its two occupants, two men of Maghrebi origin without documentation, were immediately arrested.
At 8:30 p.m., the S-36 of the Civil Guard arrived at the Port of Corralejo with the seized drugs, a total of four bales of hashish weighing 120 kilograms, and the two detainees, who will be brought during the present day to the corresponding Court on duty in Puerto del Rosario.
